At an data session on 22 Might, WTO members had been briefed by the WTO Secretariat on the Settlement on Fisheries Subsidies and the method for depositing devices of acceptance with the WTO. In addition they heard from a number of members about their ratification experiences. An data session on the WTO Fisheries Funding Mechanism, established to help creating members and LDCs which have carried out the Settlement, was held the subsequent day. As of 26 Might, the WTO has obtained 99 out of the 111 devices of acceptance for the Settlement to enter into drive, its first multilateral Settlement addressing environmental and financial sustainability.
